General objective of the job

As the Head of Legal and Administrative Affairs at Kemedar, you oversee all legal and administrative operations within the company. This pivotal role involves ensuring legal compliance across all business activities, managing corporate governance, and leading the administrative support team to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day operations.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Coordinates with: All department heads, external legal counsel, regulatory bodies

Oversees: Legal Affairs Manager, Executive Secretary Manager, Personal Assistant, Business Consultant, and any additional administrative or legal staff

Main Duties of The Job


    • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the company's compliance with legal obligations across all departments.
    • Lead the legal team in managing corporate affairs, intellectual property, contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
    • Direct and enhance administrative functions to ensure the smooth operation of the company, including oversight of executive support and office management.
    • Act as the primary legal advisor to the CEO and the board of directors, providing strategic legal insights and risk management solutions.
    • Coordinate with external legal advisors and specialists as needed to supplement in-house expertise or manage complex legal issues.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting the company's operations, both locally and globally.
    • Implement best practices in corporate governance and ensure that the company adheres to the highest standards of ethical conduct and compliance.
    • Manage the budget for the legal and administrative departments, ensuring resources are used efficiently and aligned with company priorities.
    • Facilitate training programs for the legal and administrative staff to enhance their skills and ensure they are updated on the latest legal and regulatory changes.
    • Prepare regular reports for the executive team and board of directors on legal risks, compliance status, and administrative efficiencies.

We expect that you have..!

Education

Advanced degrees in business administration or law are highly advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in a corporate setting, with significant leadership responsibilities. Experience in managing administrative functions is also required.

Language

Excellent English required

Technical Skills

Proficiency in financial software and systems, advanced Excel skills, and experience with financial reporting and analysis.

Personality

Meticulous, proactive, and strategically minded with a strong ethical stance.

Personal Skills

Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities, with strong communication skills to interact effectively at all levels within and outside the organization.

It will be nice if you have...

Certification

Bar admission in relevant jurisdictions. Additional certifications in corporate governance or compliance may be beneficial.

Specialized computer skills

Ethical, decisive, and strategic with strong leadership qualities and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Exceptional organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage diverse teams and complex organizational dynamics.
